Stag Night - Assault Course

!±8± Stag Night - Assault Course

Have you always dreamed of mixing it up in the armed forces but haven't fancied the regimental work that goes into it? Do you admire that activities and courses that they have to complete but wouldn't join up even if someone paid you? Does your Stag look at the shows on the TV depicting a soldier unit traversing a myriad of obstacles and problems and proudly exclaim; "I can do that!" before taking another mouthful of his steak and kidney pie? Well, with the itinerary of the Stag night or weekend hurriedly filling up, you may be left with a space free, on one of the mornings. Therefore it is time for your Stag to put his money where his mouth is as you take a trip out to an army style assault course.

Yes indeed, it is time to get down and dirty and really endeavour to put on your best 'action man' faces and stances on as you tackle some of the toughest obstacles that you have every come across literally giving your blood, sweat and tears to the course. You can be sure that assault courses aren't like the Krypton Factor anymore, as demand and popularity has become more prevalent with this activity so has the redeveloping and rejuvenation of the activity itself been put into action.

When participating in this test of your mettle you will be confronted by obstacles to climb and crawl under, freezing water to wade though, dank and dirt mud filled pipes to shimmy through. You have to be prepared to get bogged down in the heaviest and stodgiest of mud whilst still keeping going so may we suggest wearing an appropriate set of clothing. Perhaps it is time to use that camouflage outfit you bought on a whim years ago just to look cool. As an addition to this, may we suggest holding this rigorous activity after a particularly heavy session of drinking the night before. This will truly sort the men out from the boys and will really show who has the guts to endeavor to survive.

Furthermore, you can hold prizes for the best and worst things of the day. For instance, a crate if beer can go to the Stag with the best time. Another prize can go to the man who has been caked in the most amounts of mud and woodland debris. Forfeits and penalties can be dished out to the first person to void their stomach and vomit and of course the harshest penalty must go to the man who let everybody down by dragging himself in last with a laughable time.

All these features go up to making an amazing day, so why not put the cherry on the top by hiring a black or white limousine to complete the phenomenal day. Envisage your Stag's face as a huge and domineering black Hummer limo hones into view to pick up and transport everyone safely to and from the assault course.

Outdoor Toddler Activities For Your Own Backyard

!±8± Outdoor Toddler Activities For Your Own Backyard

Toddlers love to learn new things. They are in a constant state of information absorption which makes entertaining them reasonably easy. When the weather permits it is worth getting outdoors with your toddler to add variety to their experiences. Outdoor toddler activities do not need to be complicated. The most important thing to your child is that they are spending time with you. Here are some outdoor activity ideas for toddlers which you can do at home, in your own backyard.

Giant Newspaper Ball

You will need:
- Large soft plastic bag
- Newspaper

Stuff old newspaper into a large plastic bag (old supermarket bags are great if you have them). Tie the handles of the bag closed. These balls are light and easy for young children to throw and kick.

Gardening

You will need:
- Container to plant into (can be basket or old bucket...or even an old shoe)
- Small stones or gravel

or

- Patch of soil to plant into
-Soil
- Sunflower seeds
- Stakes

Sunflowers make a great introduction to gardening for little ones - they are such a bold, happy statement. Ensure that your container has drainage holes. Get your child to put a thin layer of gravel into the bottom of the container, then fill with soil to near the top. Moisten the soil then push a sunflower seed approx 1cm into the soil and cover with a bit more soil. Water again and place in a sunny spot. Teach your child about nurturing the plant by watering it regularly and staking it for support as it grows taller.

If you have more than one child, it can be fun to make a competition out of the sunflower growing - whose flower is the tallest (sunflowers can exceed 2m in height!)

Icy Fun

You will need:
- Some freezer safe containers, including ice cube trays
- Water
- Food coloring
- 2 x large buckets or tubs

Plan this activity in advance so that you have time to get everything frozen. I usually time it with a nap or a trip out of the house so that I can get my son involved in the set up (ice making) as well as the fun at the end.

Make up ice cubes and ice shapes in the various containers, eg. round bowl, square container - add a few drops of food coloring to some of the containers if you have it. Put in the freezer for a couple of hours.

When the ice is ready, put some tepid water into a large bucket or tub and take this outside along with the containers of ice. Let your child work out how to get the ice free from the containers and then transfer the ice shapes into the second tub. Young children love to watch the ice melting into new shapes.

Insect Hunt

Take your toddler out into your backyard, crawl round on the ground, lift up leaves and open your compost bin. Show your little one where insects live, call them by actual name (if you know them) and let your toddler pick them up. If you live somewhere where there are dangerous insects, use this time to teach your toddler which are safe and which are not.

Mud Pies

You will need:
- water
- dirt
- large plastic tub or paddling pool
- swim suit or clothing that is ok to get dirty in

Mud pies are an age-old favorite with the kids...but not so popular with parent due to the obvious messiness. I suggest that we be brave and be prepared. Try to confine the pie-making to a large plastic tub or a paddling pool, and wait for a really sunny day so that you can just spray the dirt off them when they are finished.

The recipe is pretty simple. Take dirt and add water...get as mucky as possible!!

Experiment With Swimsuit Fashion While Pregnant

!±8± Experiment With Swimsuit Fashion While Pregnant

Swimsuit season is just around the corner if not already here in some parts of the country. Now is the time to find a maternity swimsuit that is just right for you. A well made and designed maternity swimsuit should take you through most if not all of your pregnancy as it is made to stretch in all the places that need it, particularly the belly. Many women try to squeeze into their pregnancy swimsuit or bikini only to find they are very uncomfortable with too little room in the bust or too much pressure on the belly. It is important, even for the fetus' safety and your health, not to compress your belly when pregnant. Many non-maternity suits are designed to minimize or suck your tummy in, which cuts off your growing baby's oxygen supply. So it well worth your money to invest in a quality maternity swimsuit that fits you with comfort and style.

Prego Maternity swimsuits are among the best designs and fit for maternity. They are especially engineered to grow with you during your pregnancy and many of their styles offer superior bust support which becomes more important for many women during pregnancy. Their Empire Tank Suit is the best maternity swimsuit on the market for lap swimming. This suit offers superior bust support and is sleek and well fitted throughout the body with plenty of stretch in the belly. Many women can wear this suit throughout their entire pregnancy.

Prego Maternity also offers the best fit in maternity bikinis. Their bottoms fit bellow the belly while coming up slightly higher than a non-maternity bikini and offering more stretch while fitting securely. The swimsuit tops fit like a comfortable bra and are very flattering. While these bikinis do not look like maternity bikinis, the secret is in the spandex and cut.

Many women feel too modest to strut about the pool or beach in a swimsuit when pregnant (or when not pregnant!) Fortunately there are a variety of fashionable maternity board shorts, maternity cover-ups and attractive lounge dresses that can give you a stylish coverup until you are ready to dip in the water. Maternal America's Tunic Swimsuit cover-up, which comes in both white and black, is a great choice for a maternity cover-up. This tunic cover-up is so versatile that you can wear it as a casual tunic when you are not at the pool as well.

If you are looking to cover up on the bottom, then check out Japanese Weekend's Maternity Board Shorts. These shorts come in a pretty Hawaiian leaf pattern and can be worn in the water as well as out. A waterproof short is big advantage in a cover-up as you will probably want to put the shorts back on after your swim and no one wants to call attention to wet cotton shorts that are not made for the water.

Another nice look is Japanese Weekend's 3 piece Bikini with Sarong set. This pretty black bikini comes with a sarong tie wrap that is a chocolate and metallic brown pattern. The sarong gives that bit of coverage over that gives you a relaxed tropical look while fashionably covering up your bottom half. This is a sarong that you can continue to wear with your non-maternity suits after you have your baby.

1 in the Oven's Maternity Beach Dress is a casual glamorous style that can take you all the way through your pregnancy and beyond. This maxi dress reaches your ankles is made from a cool flowing cotton with plenty of stretch and a gauze like feel. It can be worn as a swimsuit cover-up or alone. It also has a four button nursing access in the top which allows for discrete nursing. This pretty dress comes in a variety of colors including white, pebble, mud pie, and a beautiful azure blue. If you are headed to a sunny tropical destination, this dress is a must-have!

Pregnancy is a great time to experiment with new styles and fashions that you may not normally wear. Whether you are looking for a swimsuit or cover-up, it is fun to try out a style and pattern that is out of your immediate comfort zone. It is also an opportunity to buy new things since your non-maternity clothes no longer fit. Take advantage of this shopping adventure and try out a maxi dress cover-up or a pretty floral tankini. You may find you enjoy this new look beyond your pregnancy!
